Awards well and truly upon and as many of you fashionista’s know, The Grammys is the opportunity to opt for all-out sophisticated glam. So, as Ru Paul would say, “don’t fuck it up.” Unfortunately, there were a few starlets that did. Here’s my list of the BEST, WORST and BORING at this years event.
But firstly, let’s start with that moment Rihanna met Solange Knowles:
Rihanna wearing custom made Azzedine Alaia. They say that red is the sexiest colour, and in this case, Rihanna certainly proves them right. She is SLAYING me with her (or her stylist’s) fashion choices lately. And despite her big forehead, this dressed has made as many headlines as her reunion with Chris Brown. The sheer panels ensured her nipple made an appearance a few times, but going by her recent outfits, I’m sure she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Beyoncé wearing an Osman jumpsuit showed that keeping it simple can pay off. She also showed that you can be sexy without flashing skin. Although to be fair women with tree-trunk thighs do look better when they cover them up.
Kelly Rowland wearing George Chakra. She shunned the memo about covering up – and she was right to do so! The dressed is actually kind of hypnotic, and if I’m honest, I think she looked better than Bey! The revealing panels sparked talking points, but she owned this.
Florence Welsh wearing Givenchy. I’m usually quite on the fence regarding Florence’s “kooky” fashion choices. I mostly just think she looks like she fell over and landed in a hippy’s winnebago. But this outfit is stunning, and compliments her hair in a sultry Poison Ivy kind-of way. If Posion Ivy stopped putting her pussy about town and mixing fashion with Botany.
Solange Knowles wearing Ralph and Russo paired the very glamorous emerald gown (set to be ‘the’ colour of 2013 womenswear) with edgy studded coral heels. I personally am not the biggest fan of that giant mop top with EVERY outfit. Just ’cause you can roll out of bed with a fierce 70s fro, doesn’t mean you can wear it all the time. Yeah it looks OK, but think a slick pulled back bun wouldn’t have drawn as much attention from the dress.
